Validating possible employee skepticism are recent reports that some companies have started to prohibit employee smoking even while not at work. Such policies have prompted activism from the ACLU and other groups concerned about potentially intrusive human resource practices. While Wal-Mart has not overtly suggested that it intends to mandate its currently voluntary program, it is not inconceivable that the encouragement could become mandated policy, given the company’s reluctance to offer adequate and affordable health care coverage and recent reputation as not being particularly employee friendly.

I knew exactly how she felt but I did not want to say anything because I haven’t really shared my TTC efforts with anyone at work except my boss and one co-worker with whom I’m really close. I know it would probably be easier if I tell more people but I just know that they’ll keep checking me out to see whether I’m pregnant already and if I don’t succeed I’d feel like I have to explain to them. The NYTimes editorial page pontificates on how horrid people like me - that is, those concerned about having uncontrolled borders, millions of foreign nationals wandering about the country, the rise of insulated subcultures, the rampant and sanctioned disregard for the law (something that attacks the foundation of our civilization), etc - are. This is a perfect example of how brainless the Left and, on the immigration issue, their friends on the Right are.
